Community, Study and Service
People have many ideas of what "church" is. Some think it's elaborate choirs singing. Some think of wooden pulpits with Pastor's preaching. Some think of old women in big hats and older men in nice suits. None of these images align with the Word of God.
When you boil it down, Church is three things:
Church is Study.
Church is Service.
Church is Community.(fellowship)
We at the Hill aim to keep things simple. Study, Service and Community.
We will study the Word of God. Predominantly the best translation is the King James Version. We will study the written Word, we will study the Word spoken into our hearts. We will study the Word. We are studying the Word.
We will serve internally and externally. We will serve physically, emotionally and spiritually. We will serve non-believers to gain an opportunity to save their souls. We will serve believers to encourage their faith. We are serving. We will serve.
Community or fellowship is different from "socializing". Fellowship is when the Jesus in one person spends time with the Jesus in another person. Socializing is when we compare our humanity.
